From camp to exile

Zygmunt Turzański worked for the Home Army (Armia Krajowa) from 1942. With the arrival of the Red Army in July 1944, he was arrested at Stryj (now Stryi). He was deported to Kazakhstan in 1945, spending time in camps and special resettlement villages. He was not released until 1955 and only returned to Warsaw in 1957. He settled at Głubczyce, near the Czech border.
